Alex Hansen

During the Montreal club scene of the 1980's, Alex Hansen dramatically entered into this world through his surrealist signature style of mural art and body painting.

His creations spanned many larger than life size reproductions - interiors of space ship interiors to intricate detailing in the designs mapped on his model's bodies. Alex has uniquely re-defined 'every day life' into a surreal universe of colors, sensual textures, brilliant lights and complex moods. Be it a naked wall or naked body, his canvas is his imagination, and translated through an airbrush as a universal language for all to see and experience. Alex's artistic talent in airbrushing and body art has allowed him much recognition, with such prestigious clients and the list continues to grow!

His passion is not limited to one area of expertise - from portraits, animation, interior design to big budget Hollywood movie sets, his vision is incomparable to others in his domain.

Nothing is impossible - the only limits are those of the imagination!

Teaching Methods

Some words from Alex...

'I like to teach in a hands on way, I demonstrate the design andtechniques by painting a model and get students to join is as theyunderstand how the process works in a very hands on workshop. So thefinished piece is something we have all created. You are of coursewelcome to observe only should you prefer, or you may wish to bringyour own model and test drive your skills with plenty of advicecreating your design, alongside mine, on your own model. Whichever wayyou decide to go you'll have lots of hands on work and plenty of chanceto watch techniques in action and to get personalized advice from me. When I work I use a range of techniques covering a mixture of Airbrush, sponge and stencil techniques , so if you are not experienced inairbrushing (or don't have the equipment) then don't fear as I'll showyou simple and smart ways of using the airbrush! As well as the painting element I'll alsoadvise you on getting work in this exciting field, embracing pressopportunities and making them work for you, creating a fabulousportfolio, sourcing photographers and models, working withphotographers (how to get what you want and not what they want!) andhow to make bodypainting a foundation stone in your career.'
