Dr Bob has a knowledgeable teaching & management background which has been practised in both his own business 'Dr Bobs Balloons' and across the globe. His Balloon career began with one bag of qualatex 260qs over 17years ago. They were brought back from the USA as a holiday novelty gift from his daughter.
Bob was very intrigued having never set eyes on anything like the balloons in 'little Wales' before. He began experimenting with the bag of exciting coloured latex, firstly grasping the inflation technique, then just kept twisting & twisting and became addicted. He spent many years improving his skills until he reached the exceptional level he as it now.
Having been involved in the Balloon Industry for over 17 years as an entertainer and Balloon Sculptor he has also been running a very successful Balloon Decorating and Party Shop for the last thirteen years. Specialising in unique balloon twisting and sculpting, he is renowned for his international award winning creative displays.
With years of experience catering for a large corporate market, he has a vast knowledge of balloon décor techniques and expertise. He has a skill for precision and perfection and with an acquired teaching background he is always keen to pass on his innovative skills within the balloon Industry.
Dr Bob is proud to be a Qualatex Approved Instructor teaching various courses in Wales and at many international Qualatex Events, along with NABAS, IPS, BBMC, BACI and The Millennium Jam. Dr Bob has become a regular competitor at a variety of of International competitions. Gaining numerous awards within the industry including, 1st place BACI 2007, Gold Award at NABAS & the Qualatex Event- Budapest 2006, 3rd Millennium Jam 2006. He thoroughly enjoys participating at events, sharing his experiences & making worldwide contacts along the way.
Having had the opportunity to be on the NABAS committee, he thoroughly enjoyed joining such a vibrant and respected team, and it has been a pleasure helping to educate, promote and inform members. Reaching a stage where balloons are used through every part of his business Dr Bob has compiled many great & unique twisting ideas that bring smiles and looks of amazement to many faces both young & old.
From petite unique characters & gifts to large twisted sculptures, grottos & décor to full balloon stage show acts for both children & adults which include his inspirational themed costumes & accessories. Twisting and Instructing within the Balloon Industry are his passion, he is constantly overwhelmed with new ideas and is equally comfortable teaching complete beginners in the industry to those with an extensive background, believing no matter how skilled you are there is always room to learn something new, therefore he will continue to inspire the balloon world with his imaginative work whilst dedicating his time to teaching & passing on his knowledge to other delegates.
