2008 Competition
The theme for this year is
"All-star Americana"
This exciting theme has been designed to give as many creative options as possible and I am looking forward to receiving some amazing, creative entries from the artists throughout the UK and worldwide!
The theme encompasses all things USA from the bright lights of New York City to Midwest folk art to West Coast laidback style.
The winners will all be announced at the award ceremony at the Face Painting Convention 2008's Saturday Night Banquet. Remember you do not need to attend to attend the Face Painting Convention 2008 to enter the main postal competitions!

Face Painter of the Year 2008 Awards
All nominees will create a one of a kind design within the theme of "All-star Americana".
The categories for Awards at the Face Painting Convention 2008 are:
- Youth Award nominees must be 16 years old and under
- Novice Award nominees are face painters with less than 15 months experience
- Experienced Award nominees are all face painters with over 15 months experience
The winners will each receive a snazzy Snazaroo trophy, weekend day delegate ticket for the 2009 convention and a selection of professional face painting goodies.
Body Painter of the Year 2008 Award
Nominees will create a show stopping masterpiece within the theme of "All-star Americana" which covers no less than 75% of the models body (not just the back or thigh please!). Please be aware as always that there will be children present at the face painting convention so all rudey bits should be covered to avoid embarrassment or offence.
The winners will each receive a snazzy Snazaroo trophy, weekend day delegate ticket for the 2009 convention and a selection of professional face and body art goodies.

Some stuff to note about emailed entries:
Artists are welcome to email their entries over but please remember that I do not have a top of the range photo quality printer so can not be held responsible for poor photo quality.
Entries should be sent to rainbowfaces@supanet.com
When emailing the entries please make sure they are ready to print as either .jpg or .pdf files which are scalable to A4 size.
I will only be printing one A4 and up to two 4" x 6" (for details only and subject to display space) prints per entry for face painting awards and up to three A4 for body painting and up to three 4" x 6" (for details only and subject to display space) to keep it fair for all nominees.
Please use this format for naming your emailed entries to avoid any going missing! They should be firstnamesurnametitleA4.ext for the main entry photo and firstnamesurnametitledetailnumber.ext for the details.
For example if I were to enter then I would make sure the files were names as follows
conventionhollywoodA4.pdf
and
conventionhollywooddetail1.pdf - you get the drift.
Good clear photography and good printing will help your entry!
If in doubt, post it out!
LAST DATE FOR RECEIPT OF ENTRIES WILL BE SUNDAY 12th OCTOBER 2008 @ MIDNIGHT!!! (That's the Sunday before the convention!)
