A big warm welcome to all Face Painters old and new, I am so looking forward to meeting everyone at the 2010 UK Face & Body Art Convention this year. I will introduce myself to any newcomers, I have been face & body painting professionally now for 10 years and truly believe that this has been my most fulfilling career to date! I have attended every UK Convention and feel honoured to be invited back again this year to be a Demonstrator.
I will be holding two classes which will be:-
Faddy Faces for Faddy Kids!
When I first started face painting I noticed the usual fads such as Spiderman & Barbie and like everyone else after the first few hundred faces I managed to get the measure of them. However with the advance of kids TV channels and CGI films/cartoons the onslaught of "fads" has crept up on us. We all know the names – Ben 10, High School Musical, Dr Who, Hannah Montana, Fifi etc... It was more fear than foresight that made me begin to introduce them into my choice of faces. When fellow face painters started asking how I did "Ben 10" or "Fifi" I felt this would prove to be of interest to others so here it is. They will not be "showboat" faces but as they appear "on the job". You the audience will be my face painting queue (parents & children alike) and decide from my "List of Faces" what you want to see.
Flowers “The Return” – with the occasional Fairy!
At the 2008 UK Convention I held a hands on class called "Flowers" – Why should they just be Daisies? It proved to be very popular so I have decided to bring on a follow up class which will continue the theme of the original but introduce a few fairies and other characters.
I know for some face painters the word fairy strikes fear into their hearts but by simplifying the shapes and making them silhouette it will, I hope, make them your friends!
So come along with your favourite brushes and paints and let's have some fun!
