Nobody, not even Riffat, could have imagined that an ordinary henna cone could take her to such dizzying heights of success.
In demand not only in the UK but also across the world, Riffat's work has been seen not only on brides but also admired by none other then her Majesty the Queen as part of her Jubilee visit to Slough and also published in magazines such as the inspiring Illusion magazine. Riffat has been applying henna for over 20 years and during this time has built up an amazing collection of stunning henna images that go beyond bridal designs on hands.
I've been doing henna for a long time and I love it now as when I first started. One of the things that I love is that you never stop learning and henna can take you in so many different directions.
For instance, I was invited, for the first time, to run henna workshops in Bristol. It was a whole new world for me; I met so many amazing friendly people. My classes were fully booked by nine every morning, which I found both exciting and scary having never done anything like this before. I've never been to such an action packed weekend, everyone made me feel so welcome. Thank you Rosie for giving me this amazing opportunity and look forward to seeing you again in Telford 2008.
